Tour to Trakai

Trakai is a small town in Southeast Lithuania, 28-km southwest of Vilnius. Town and its neighbouring outskirts, as the state’s centre, had begun to form in 13th century.
Trakai is a genuine archaic town on water. This is a popular retreat for visitors looking for a little peace and quiet. Trakai is the only Eastern European castle that was built up on an island. It is one of the most often visited historical-architectural monuments in Lithuania.
Trakai is also home-place to the Karaites, a Turkish ethnic group. They came to Lithuania from the Crimea in the 14th century as warriors for Grand Duke Vytautas, and continue to live in this area till nowadays.
